“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
On this day, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who had a beautiful vision of a nation of citizens who are all equally accepted and respected. As we are all human and subject to our failings, we are still striving for this magnificent dream of one day rising and living up to the true meaning that all people are created equal. And, that is okay. As long as we have not given up on this magnificent goal. We are much closer than we were 55 years ago.
As an advocate of love, kindness and compassion, I will continue to do my part to raise up everyone who connects with me. And, I know that you, my dear reader, are inspired to do the same. Each and every one of us are capable of so much light and love! Each of us has that amazing light inside of us and it is time to let it shine. And, LET IT SHINE, all the time. I do recognize that it can be hard to do if we haven’t first taken a moment to shine a bit of light on ourselves and love who we are. How can we expect ourselves to love others if we do not love ourselves?
Take a moment and start appreciating who you are. You truly ARE remarkable. Expand that appreciation and gratitude. And, soon you will find out how very BRIGHT your light is. Shine on! Drive out that darkness. Find that spark of love in your heart. Know that you are loved. Love yourself. And, love others. It really is that simple. And, while simple is not always easy, it doesn’t have to be hard. I love you, my dear reader. Thank you for being present.
