Words are powerful and can trigger various emotions in us. We all know what words typically upset us and cause stress. To post them here defeats the purpose of this article; instead, let us focus on those words that inspire and incite joy and bliss as we move into the final 5 weeks of the year. You know the ones that you cannot help but feel wonderful when you hear or think of them like: “You just made day!” or “You have a beautiful smile!” or “Thank you so much!” or “Merry Christmas!” or “Happy Holidays!”

What words or phrases have you noticed that positively affect your mood? Have you ever considered what your favorite words or phrases are? What words do you believe might make others feel great, too? Here is a list of phrases that regularly stir up upbeat feelings for me:

  • Welcome!
  • You are such a joy to be around.
  • You have such an infectious smile/laughter/giggle.
  • I deeply appreciate you.
  • You are such a good/dear friend.
  • You have such bubbly personality.
  • You inspire me.
  • I like/love your enthusiasm.
  • You have such positive energy.
  • Fascinating.
  • That is compelling.
  • That is fantastic!
  • Awesome!
  • Amazing!
  • Are you ready to have some fun?
  • How delightful.
  • Remarkable!
  • Wow!
  • You are such a blessing.
  • Thank you for _______________.
  • You’re welcome.
  • It was my pleasure.

There are many, many more I could add; but, I believe you get the gist of it. What makes these positive words and phrases even more influential is our delivery of these. A genuinely positive attitude paired up with any of the above phrases creates a magnificently pleasant vibe. Imagine receiving one of the above statements being presented to you with an authentically joyful manner. Did the thought of it make you smile. Super. Are you ready to spread the joy, now?
