I have to remind myself often that perfectionism is overrated, and allow tasks, events, and projects to come to a close without fussing over every little detail. Dr. Wayne Dyer stated, “Needing to have things perfect is the surest way to immobilize yourself with frustration.” Frustration is the surest way to squelch any joy that these tasks, events and projects initially gave me. The devil is in the details. I have often become blocked by trying to find the perfect words or the drawing the perfect lines. Let us let go of perfectionism and let ourselves enjoy the process without nitpicking details and exactness. Like a flower, let us allow the unfolding of the journey.
