How to bounce back.

Resilience is being able to bounce back and recovering from disheartening and trying situations. Some people are more resilient than others. How do they do it? Resilience is developed over time by overcoming obstacles and challenges in our lives. Babies are extremely resilient. For example, as babies learn to walk, they will fall; but, they keep trying.

As adults, resilience expands as we cope and recover from various circumstances in our lives like: illness, injury, deceit, hurt, and tragedy. When we can see through our current circumstance with a neutral lens, objectively and without attaching emotions to it, then we can overcome the challenge aka “the fall”. We discover our resolve, when we can stay open-minded.

Seeing the blessings in our situation is one way to do this. Let us ask ourselves questions like: What can I learn from this? What is good about this? What is the gift or opportunity in this situation? What is funny about this? Sincerely answering these questions will help us gain a different perspective of seemingly arduous circumstances. This newfound insight will allow us to manifest solutions and become more resilient. We discover that we CAN get through the situation; and, we bounce back stronger than ever from it.
