Celebrate every day.

I discovered a site called NATIONAL DAY CALENDAR over the weekend that has compiled a list of National (U.S.) Days and Months (with an expansion that is under construction to include International Days). National Day Calendar has given us over 365 reasons to celebrate every day. The site is at this URL: http://www.nationaldaycalendar.com

When we celebrate every day, we will find our hearts fill with more joy and gratitude as we bring awareness and appreciation to the simplest of things like the first Monday of the year. January 5th was designated: National Bird Day, as well as, National Whipped Cream Day. Today is:

As I explored the site, I discovered that January is National Mentoring Month, which was founded in 2002. From the site…

National Mentoring Month (NMM) is an annual designation observed in January.

NMM celebrates mentoring and the positive effect it can have on young lives. Its goals are to:

  • Raise awareness of mentoring in its various forms.
  • Recruit individuals to mentor, especially in programs that have waiting lists of young people.
  • Promote the rapid growth of mentoring by recruiting organizations to engage their constituents in mentoring.

Look into a mentor program to see how it can benefit you and how you can benefit it and use #NationalMentoringMonth to post on social media.

The Harvard School of Public Health and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership founded National Mentoring Month in 2002.

January monthly observations also include: National Bath Safety Month, National Black Diamond Month, National Blood Donor Month, National Braille Literacy Month, National Hobby Month, National Hot Tea Month, National Oatmeal Month, National Slow Cooking Month, National Soup Month, and National Sunday Supper Month.

We now have a good source to find a reason to celebrate every day. Wouldn’t be fun to create our own personal reason to celebrate every day?
